ChatLead for beauticians

The first conversation, handled with the same care as the treatment.

ChatLead answers questions about your treatments online and on the phone, shares the preparation notes you’ve approved and takes consultation requests, so new clients feel looked after before their first visit.

  1. Customer: Hi, what’s the difference between the hydrating facial and the enzyme facial?

  2. Stillroom Beauty assistant: The hydrating facial is 60 minutes and focuses on moisture. The enzyme facial is 45 minutes, with a gentle exfoliation.

Demo note: this answer uses the business’s Treatment menu

  3. Customer: Will the enzyme one clear up my breakouts?

  4. Stillroom Beauty assistant: I can’t say how your skin will respond. Mei can take a look and recommend a treatment in a consultation. Would you like to request one?

Demo note: this answer uses the business’s Assistant instructions

  5. Customer: Yes, weekday evenings. I’m Hannah, on mobile number (hidden in this example)

  6. Stillroom Beauty assistant: Thanks, Hannah. Mei will be in touch to arrange a time. Before any facial, the studio asks you to skip exfoliating products for 48 hours.

The problem

Questions arrive while you’re with a client

Treatment rooms aren’t places for phones. Meanwhile, a new client wants to know which facial suits them, what brow lamination involves or how to prepare for waxing. Some of those questions have simple answers. Others need you to see their skin first.

“Hi, what’s the difference between the hydrating facial and the enzyme facial?”
An example first message. ChatLead replies straight away, then asks what Mei would need to know.

Enquiry scenarios

Three beautician enquiries, and how ChatLead handles each one

  1. 01

    Choosing between treatments

A new client can’t tell the difference between two facials on your menu.

    What ChatLead covers

    • Answers from your treatment menu: what’s involved and how long it takes
    • Asks what they’re hoping a treatment will help with
    • Suggests a consultation if they’re unsure
    • Collects their details and preferred times

    What you get

They get a clear answer now, and you get a client who’s ready to talk treatments.

  2. 02

A question that needs your expertise

Someone asks whether a peel will fade their acne scarring.

    What ChatLead covers

    • Explains that results depend on an in-person assessment
    • Doesn’t guess at outcomes or give medical advice
    • Offers to take a consultation request
    • Saves their question so you can follow up

    What you get

Nothing is promised that you haven’t assessed, and the client still feels heard.

  3. 03

Getting ready for a first treatment

A client booked in for a lash lift wants to know how to prepare.

    What ChatLead covers

    • Shares the preparation notes you’ve approved
    • Refers health and medication questions back to you
    • Answers practical questions, like parking, if you’ve added them
    • Saves any new questions for you

    What you get

Clients arrive prepared with your instructions, not advice from a search engine.

  • What they need, with the details ChatLead asked for
  • The full conversation, so nothing is lost in a summary

Assessments, recommendations and results stay with you, where they belong.

When they call instead

After-hours calls, handled with the same care

Some questions arrive after the studio closes. ChatLead answers as Stillroom Beauty, doesn’t give health advice, and makes sure Mei knows who to call back and why.

  • It passes on questions about health, medication or pregnancy instead of answering them.
  • It collects the caller’s name and what they’d like, one question at a time.
  • Mei gets a text summary, and the call is saved with a transcript.

You keep your number and forward calls to ChatLead. Phone numbers are available for businesses in Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Questions

Questions about ChatLead for beauticians

Will ChatLead give skin or medical advice?

You set its limits, and we recommend it doesn’t. Instruct ChatLead not to give medical advice or promise results, and to leave questions about skin conditions, medications or pregnancy for you. It saves the question so you can answer it yourself.

Can it share our preparation and aftercare notes?

Yes. Add the notes you’ve approved to ChatLead’s knowledge base, and it uses them to answer clients’ questions. You can update them at any time.

Can clients book a treatment through the chat?

No. ChatLead doesn’t book appointments or show your availability. It takes the request and preferred times, and you confirm the booking.

How will it sound to my clients?

You write its welcome message and instructions, so you set the tone. It asks one question at a time and offers a consultation when that’s the right next step.

Where do the enquiries go?

Each one is saved as a lead in your ChatLead dashboard, with the customer’s contact details and what they need. Website conversations and call transcripts are saved too, so you can see exactly what was said before you call back.

Will it work with my website?

ChatLead adds a chat window to your site with one short snippet of code. The dashboard has instructions for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Shopify and other common platforms, and the chat window shows your business name and colour.

Can ChatLead answer my phone as well?

Yes. You keep your existing number and forward calls to your ChatLead number, for example only when you can’t pick up. ChatLead answers with your greeting, collects the caller’s details, saves them as a lead with a transcript of the call, and can text or email you a summary. Urgent calls can be put through to a number you choose. Phone numbers are available for businesses in Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
