ChatLead for hairdressers
Mid-foil, and your next client still gets an answer.
ChatLead answers questions about your services on your salon’s website and phone, takes appointment requests and helps new colour clients prepare, so nothing waits until you’re between clients.
Customer: Hi! Do you do balayage? I’d love to go from dark brown to a soft caramel.
Wren Hair Studio assistant: Yes, Wren does balayage. For a big colour change, Ava starts with a colour consultation. Would you like to request one?

Customer: Yes please. What should I bring?
Wren Hair Studio assistant: The salon asks you to bring a few photos of colours you like. Have you used box dye in the last two years?
Demo note: this answer uses the business’s Consultation notes
Customer: Yes, last year. Thursday or Saturday mornings suit me. I’m Chloe, on mobile number (hidden in this example)
Wren Hair Studio assistant: Thanks, Chloe. I’ve passed your request to the salon, and they’ll contact you to confirm a time.
Demo note: Request saved for the salon. Ava takes it from here
The problem
Messages arrive mid-appointment
New clients ask the same things: do you do this, how long does it take, what should I bring? Answering between clients means some questions sit for hours. And a colour consultation goes better when you already know their hair history.
“Hi! Do you do balayage? I’d love to go from dark brown to a soft caramel.”

Questions
Questions about ChatLead for hairdressers
Can clients book straight into my appointment book?
No. ChatLead doesn’t connect to booking systems or show live availability. It collects the service, preferred stylist and times, and your team confirms the appointment.
Will it tell clients our prices?
Only what you give it. If you prefer to price colour after a consultation, ChatLead can explain that and offer to take a consultation request.
Can it share our patch test and consultation policies?
Yes. Add your policies and preparation notes to ChatLead’s knowledge base, and it uses them to answer clients’ questions. You can update them at any time.
What does a new client see?
A chat window on your website with your salon’s name and colour. It asks one question at a time, so it feels like a quick conversation rather than a form.
Where do the enquiries go?
Each one is saved as a lead in your ChatLead dashboard, with the customer’s contact details and what they need. Website conversations and call transcripts are saved too, so you can see exactly what was said before you call back.
Will it work with my website?
ChatLead adds a chat window to your site with one short snippet of code. The dashboard has instructions for WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Shopify and other common platforms, and the chat window shows your business name and colour.
Can ChatLead answer my phone as well?
Yes. You keep your existing number and forward calls to your ChatLead number, for example only when you can’t pick up. ChatLead answers with your greeting, collects the caller’s details, saves them as a lead with a transcript of the call, and can text or email you a summary. Urgent calls can be put through to a number you choose. Phone numbers are available for businesses in Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
